I've been designer for almost two decades, and a tutor for 5 years, teaching around 100 students a week how to create beautiful artwork. And since learning to make my own shoes I have been so inspired to bring shoe making workshops to my creative community! The enquiries have been pouring in since I shared my dream with friends, family and my lovely students, I'm amazed how many people would love to learn how to create their very own shoes!
If you're a complete beginner you're in great company. So far all my enquiries have come from people just like you, so these workshops will be tailored to folks with little or no prior knowledge. Although everyone is welcome! All the tools, materials and refreshments will be provided on the day, so the only thing you need to bring is yourself and your passion for fun and fabulous footwear!
Workshops will be hosted in either Oxted or Edenbridge, a leafy area of North Kent, just a short train ride from central London. There are places to eat, drink and explore within 10 minutes walk, free parking at both venues and local accommodation is very affordable. The Oxted venue also has wheelchair access. There are some wonderful places to stay and explore here if you're making a weekend of it!
These workshops are practical, we will be using tools to hammer, screw, stretch and glue so it can be a little physical in nature. and a steady hand is important.If you you have queries, just drop me a message, we're happy to accommodate and give a helping hand!
