Gorgeous vintage gold lamé evening shoes with matching strap and buckle, high block heel and ruched vamp, these have the classic high topline of the sixties era. I believe the latest these were made was early 1970’s. So they’re older than me! I love how bright the gold is, and the elegant shape of the heel, despite the crumbling heel tips. The buckle doesn’t actually have set stones, it is ultra shiny with facets indented, not dissimilar to Victorian tin ornaments. It’s the crisp shapes that create the impression of a sparkling stone, and they are flashy, really rather modern for the time. I can just picture my Great Auntie Muriel admiring these. But not buying them, so flashy! She preferred a classic beige. Nothing too ostentatious!
