Alberto Guardiani, has become synonymous with its refined craftsmanship and innovation ever since its inception in 1947.
The company began as Centauro in 1947 established by the brothers Luigi and Dino Guardiani. In 1972 Dino’s son Alberto took over the business, and in 1980 renamed the company, Alberto Guardiani. In the early 1990’s, collaborations with notable fashion brands Jill Sander, Verri, Byblos and Gianfranco Ferre in producing their footwear raised prestige.
In 2007 Alberto opened a new showroom at 29 Corso Venezia in Milan, in an 18th-century building that was originally a monastery. An ideal stage for Alberto Guardiani’s style, a poetic backdrop for exclusive goods and an expression of luxury.
The same year they launched new store in Rome and a year later in Naples, soon expanding to 11 stores across the world, establishing a real presence in the luxury market.
In March 2009 the brand released the Eiffel Tower limited edition collection to celebrate 120 years of the landmark in Paris. To celebrate, Alberto Guardiani signed a limited edition photograph where the reflection of the Eiffel Tower shines on the black patent leather of the dainty ankle strap shoe.
In 2010 Alberto Guardiani designed the famous Lipstick Heels, a classic black patent leather pump, with a lipstick-shaped heel, bright red in colour. It became an instant icon.
Now the brand remains a family business with Albertos daughters at the helm. They are retracing their roots, and focusing more on luxury sports shoes and classic styles.
